#1984WrestlingWars MACW TV Tournament Final, 3/10/84, Mid-South Wrestling TV For the 2nd week of March 1984, Memphis TV(EvansVille Feed)3/10/84

Mid-Atlantic Tv Tournament Final 3/10/84 Dick Slater vs Mark Youngblood Story is simple here but effective! Slater attacks Youngblood before the bell, in fact we don't even get to see most of it on camera! When the show gets back from break Youngblood is on the floor seemingly out of comission. A very young looking Tim Horner makes an appearance to help a batterted Youngblood to the back. However as he is being led up the asile, he wakes up and breaks away hoppling back to the ring. Because he knows this is for the TV title! Slater beats him in every way for most of this 7 minute match. Mark though will not go quietly!  When Youngblood even manages a small comeback the people are jumping up out of thier seats. Stater hurls him the floor and hits a bridging back suplex to bring Youngblood back in the ring. Both men's shoulders are down with the bridge, but Youngblood gets a shoulder off the canvas before 3 and it is over! The new Mid-Atlantic and first Tv Champion Mark Youngblood! This was solid storytelling!....https://youtu.be/dv-OMbEnhIs

Mid-South Wrestling Tv for the 2nd week of March 1984 Some great stuff on this episode as always and a historic moment in wrestling history, more about that in a moment. Ross and Boyd welcome us to the show, and then throw it to "Cowboy" Bill Watts who is ringside with the turmoil laden Mid-South Champions Magnum TA and Mr. Wrestling II! They recap what went on last week and Watts again asks II to explain, this time to TA's face why he threw the towel in during Ta's bout with Khurshev last week. II says simple Magnum was hurt and to dumb to know he was beat! He berates TA one more time says he is gutless and a cowered! TA is fumming! II says he has slapped Magnum twice and he goes to do it again and TA grabs his hand in mid-air and says II is jealous and he has respect for him but enough is enough and if he wants a fight they can do it right now! Magnum throws of his jacket mid-ring. II still on the floor removes his coat, but takes a step back and tells Watts that just like JYD, if he were to go in there and beat TA, Magnum would cry and say he wasn't ready or some other excuse. He says they will have the match when II wants it not before! II walks calmly away! Leaving TV standing Mid-ring very upset!.... Terry Taylor defeated Masao Ito in a ok but plodding Tv Title Tournament bout! There was a referee bump and Ito threw Taylor over the top rope to the floor, Taylor crawls under the ring and comes up on the other side! While Ito and the Ref "look for him" where he hit the floor. Taylor sneaks in from behind and pins Ito with a sloppy looking O'Connor Roll!.....Now to the wrestling History on this show we have, I believe the 1st televised match between the RNR and Midnight Expresses! This four men knew each other very well and the chemistry was there right from go! The bout was simple and short but we see flashes of what this rivalry would go to be such as Ricky Morton doing a "Frankensteiner to Bobby Eaton mid-match! The RNR hit Eaton with their double dropkick but has they are going for the pin Volkoff and the former Darsow run in. While the Midnight crew hold Robert Gibson, The "Russians" hold Ricky Morton down and cut his hair! Girls are covering their heads screaming in the crowd! This was ready to kill these two heels! This was spectacular! In other action Jake Roberts debuted/returned in a squash match! I have seen three months of this show since I began this blog, and it never drags at all!....https://youtu.be/_pkkzZ88PHA

Memphis TV (Evansville feed) 3/10/84 Big news Jimmy Hart's Bruise Brother's tag team died!!!....Ok not really but the did show a taped piece of the "First Family attending their funeral! This was hooky wrestling bullshit but it was entertaining! Jimmy Hart then introduced the former team, Troy Graham the "Dream Machine" and Porkchop Cash as the "New Fabulous Ones" complete with their own "beefcake" music video! Lance Russell(the man who made me and thousands more wrestling fans) was fantastic here at being out of shorts with Jimmy for being so low!.... Other big news they showed a clip of a six man in Memphis where Joe Leduc and Jimmy hart ran in and caused JJ Dillion' crew of the Zambuie Express and King Konga to be beaten by the babyfaces! Hart and Leduc do an interview saying how smart they are. Then we get a prerecord from the star of this show James J Dillion who is superb here! He says that Joe Leduc was not helping Lawler in the six man, that Jimmy sent Leduc out to hurt Dillion! JJ says he has spoken with promoter Eddie Marlin and the only way he agreed to Marlin requesting that his Zambuie Express  put up the Southern tag titles  one more time before they take them to Florida. Was if the faced the team of Joe Leduc and Jerry Lawler!...Hart says that's fine and makes a reluctant Leduc promise to not hurt Lawler so that Memphis can keep the belts in the area! A great segment! Some long squashes but a good show!   https://youtu.be/Rwh7O52ZNtQ
