A bit of a mixed bag today, but a fun one. So here We Go!....Fort Worth Tx 3/19/84 Junkyard Dog vs "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin with his valet Precious! This match was fun and the crowd was alive for it! As always JYD didn't do a lot, but what he did mattered. The Interplay between JYD and Precious was great! Before the bout even began! Precious stood in front of Jimmy and verbaly taunted the Dog. Even pushing him back at one point! She distracted JYD long enough for Garvin to smack him! Once the bell rung Garvin would stall, At one point JYD chased him out of the ring to the floor. While Garvin got a hug from his "main squezze" JYD reached thru the ropes and messed Garvin's hair. They repeated the same spot again but as the heels were hugging the second time Dog messed up Precious's hair! The crowd lost it! She jumped up on the apron and JYD mimicks fluffing his hair and wiggling his backside at her! The crowd blew again! Dog clamps on a bear hug. Garvin rakes the eyes to free himself. JYD puts on a reverse chinlock for a time. He lets go of that to headbutt Garvin to the floor. Jimmy gets back in ring and JYD misses a headbutt(Same heat spot every match). Garvin takes controll with a front facelock he keeps slipping into a choke! JYD takes back over and tells Precious at ringside "This is for you" and press slams Jimmy! JYD Misses a corner charge and goes down! As he is near the apron Percious takes her hair spray and sprayes it in JYD's eyes in front of the referee who of course calls for the bell and the DQ! Garvin puts the boots to him until Iceman Parsons and Sunshine make the save! Fun match nobody will call it Funk vs Brisco but it was entertaining! https://youtu.be/9ATxtutBtsI
An AWA bout from Winnipeg Canada 3/22/84 Billy Robinson Vs BlackJack Lanza....Managing Robinson on this night, Bobby Heenan! I have never seen Billy in the full out heel role! He is having fun! He hits Lanza on a robe break with a openhanded slap! Then goes to his corer and gives Heenan a high 5! (Do they high five in Wiggian?) The crowd chants "Weasel" at Heenan and Robinson covers his own ears! Lanza opens up on Billy with forearms and punches! Billy takes a shot to the gut after a whip in the ropes and heads to the floor. When he returns to the ring, he hits a series of dazzling chain wrestling holds, but being a heel he does all that to thumb Lanza right in the eye to take over. Robinson hits one of his famous reverse neckbreakers but Lanza blocks a second one and comes out of it with a arm wringer on Billy. They trade stiff forearms and Lanza whips Robinson in the corner. He goes wild with punches! I must say I have seen him a lot recently in this blog and I love Lanza's babyface fire! He Hits a backdrop and then he applies his knucle to the temple submission. Heenan gets up on the apron Lanza spots him and leaves Billy to cut off Heenan! Robinson plants a forearm to Lanza's kidneys and gets the pin! Mid-South House Show match Houston Tx 3/23/84 They announce to the crowd before the match that this was supposed to be JYD vs Wrestling II but since II beat Dog he has left mid-south for 90 days! So the match will now be Mr. Wrestling II vs Magnum TA in a non-title bout! The start bad mouthing each other and pointing fingers before the bell! The crowd is with this feud no doubt! Simple story told here! Everything II Tries Magnum is ready for! II hits a hiplock take over when he tries again TA blocks it and wrenches up on the arm bar. They exchange along the ropes Magnum hits a forearm and makes II cumple between the ropes. II works on the legs he grabs an inside toe hold, have been in it for several minutes TA counters by shoving II ward into the turnbuckle with his other foot! II tries a headscissors TA springs out of it and he and Two are eye to eye once again. II is frustrated and kicks the ropes in disgust. II does manage to hit a couple kneelifts the 1st one is a short one out of a test of strength! The 2nd is a full one but Magnum gets his feet on the ropes. The end comes out of nowhere as bith men smash together on a criscross and after the struggle back up II bounches off the ropes and TA hits a perfect belly-to-belly! He covers and the ref counts the three! TA has pinned his mentor and rivial and the North American Champion clean as a sheet in the middle of the ring!
