#1984WrestlingWars Mid-South TV For The Second Week Of February, 2 matches from 2/11/84 and from 2/15/84 Mid-Atlantic Champioship Wrestling A WCCW bout from 2/17/84

Mid-South TV airing the 2nd week of February 1984 Well This was another wild very entertaining week of Mid-South TV. Your commentators for the hour(I swear to God I am not making this up) Boyd Pierce and Junkyard Dog! The reason for this becomes clear as the show moves along. We start with a Magnum TA highlight package to "Sweet Dreams" by the Eurythmics. This is Straight up Memphis Wrestling "cheesetastic!"  In ring action starts with a Midnight Express squash match, the highlight of which is Cornette before he intro's his duo says that "Cowboy" Bill Watts had better watch what he says about his mama/family or they will buy Mid-South sports and Watts can work for Jimmy or be fired! (foreshadowing anybody.....) In the Tv Title tournament this week Maso Ito beat Lanny Poffo, In a bout very much like the one  coverd in this blog two days ago from Houston! Biggest news/angle of the week took place next, As after a MR Wrestling II singles squash he is jumped by the Midnight Express. Magnum is late helping his mentor getting dressed in the back?? So JYD cannot take the double team sitting at the desk, fine(2500 dollars for interference was standard in Mid-South) be dammed and he runs in and cleans house, TA shows up late buttoning his shirt and helps! (More foreshadowing??) Dog even says before he jumps in "Where's Magnum?" Little seeds are always planted on Mid-South. That's why is was great then and more so even now because everything mattered! After the next break we come back to Jim Ross talking to JYD at ringside about his bout next week in the TV Tourney with Nikolai Volkoff! Dog gives a great "real" promo here. He says he knows that what just happend cost him 2500 hundred dolars anh he is not rich, but he would do it again because he cannot sit by and watch things like that! Volkoff and Darsow show up and things get crazy! Dog gets in the ring to challege Volkoff Who thinks Darsow is there to back him up, but as Nikolai climbs in. Terry comes out and attacks Darsow keeping him busy on the floor! As Dog and Volkoff hook it up Masao Ito runs in and does his "deadly" kick to JYD's throat. Job Guys run into the ring to help Dog.Then the heel lockeroom empites, followed by the all the babyfaces! and BOOM we have a "Memphis" studio wild brawl! This was chaos and wrestling perfection all in one!....The slow closed with more squashes and a RNR Express music video! This was stellar TV! https://youtu.be/11zAZOsZqtE

Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling 2/11/1984 Greg Valentine vs Ernie Ladd This is a super rare heel ve heel match for the time period! Also a match in the Mid-Atlantic Tv title tournament! for just six minutes long this is a very could match! Nietheir man ever takes a step back! They just pound on each other! Two legit tough men! Ladd does a devestating looking double leg drop to the back of Valentine! Big Cat could jump and this was very late in his carreer! End came When Ladd used his "loaded"thumb gimmick and Tommy Young caught him! Your winner Greg "The Hammer" Valentine! This match is a small gem! https://youtu.be/LSvWQljy12I

MACW match taped on the 15th, shown on the 18th of Feb,  Dory Funk Jr vs Dick Stater This match could have taken place in 74 and nobody would have batted an eye. That is no negative comment! I am here for it this was great! 8 minutes of close contact mat wrestling awesomeness! I always wonder if, because Stater was a great clone of Terry Funk if Dory ever felt odd wrestling him!...This match was so good for the style they worked in that it will seem really odd to most modern fans!(that is no knock on today's stuff. Everything changes, it has to I get it!) Fisish was Dory hits a quick series of flash near falls. Slater manages to counter one with a side russian leg sweep and hold the tights for the pin! I'm an old man(41 but in wrestling years 108 at least) and this match made me happy!  https://youtu.be/27RCIXb293s

WCCW bout 2/17/84 Chris Adams vs Buddy Roberts I have had very little to say bad about any of the show/matches in this blog today! Well....That streak continues this was excellent! It must have been done with heavy hearts as well. David had only been gone a week.  Roberts meanacing Sunshine before the bell and attacking Adams at the bell who's back was turned talking to Sunshine! Chris slams Buddy on top of a table at ringside the table smashes and we get a cool camra shot of Roberts bleeding from the mouth laying in remnants of the table! Adams at one point fanes a hamstring pull Roberts gets close and Chris blasts a superkick at him! A well worked match all around! Adams wins with a nice schoolboy roll up! After the match Jimmy Garvin and Precious attack, do a fast beatdown then retreat to the floor and point and laugh!  https://youtu.be/-s_Ja9G0-Rg
