#1984WrestlingWars Mid-South TV, the last week of January and a tag match from Houston Tv 1/27/84

Mid-South Wrestling Tv, weekend of 1/28/84 As the show begins Bill Watts and Jim Ross talk about the fact that today on Television The Midnight Express will face Wrestling II and Magnum TA but, in a non title bout! Jim Cornette says in a pre tape promo that he was to happy to have the bout and his team signed the contract before they realized it was non-title. He said that fun and games were done and by the end of the match his team would be taken seriously!...The ring announcer Boyd Pierce deserves special mention here for two things, 1st when Cornette grabs the mic to introduce his team, Boyd shoots him a look that is half anger half disgust! It is subtle but great. 2nd When II/Ta hit the ring Boyd starts to introduce them but they attack and Boyd says" and I'm Leaving" into the mic you sense his honest fear for his safety! Such great stuff!
The match is super "hot"with the crowd from the bell! After sending the heels out of the ring to begin on fire. II/TA work on the legs of both Dennis and Bobby. Then II gets a knee in the back from the apron to shift control. After a few minutes of beating II manages a "hot" tag to Magnum. They clean house untill Cornette pulls the top rope down a TA goes flying out backwards over the top rope. Jimmy hands his belt into his men and they start whipping II and then Magnum until legit whelps start to rise and skin is peeled off. This looked butal!...The babyfaces do a very fired up post match promo where you can see huge welts on their back and sides! This is how you draw "I want to kill those bad guys heat"! All that was in the opening 20 minutes! In other happening Butch Reed attacked former partner Jim Neidhart after a squash match(a very rare heel vs heel feud).....Masa Ito used his throat "claw" hold to make another job guy bleed from the mouth!....Terry Taylor and Brian Addias faced Volkoff and Darsow! Watts really pushed Taylor hard on commentary comparing him to a young Jack Brisco(really??) While Taylor is out on the floor battling both men Masa Ito Runs in attacks Addias and uses the "throat claw to make Addias bleed from the mouth!... Then Buddy Landell beat Lanny Poffo in a very solid bout! The show ended with a music video for the soon to be in the area RNR Express! A jam packed hour my lord!https://youtu.be/SjJ4fYgeFOI

Midnight Express vs Mr Wrestling II/Magnum TA Houston TX 1/27/84
     There is crowd heat, then there was this match! When real live human beings stood up and seemed to scream at top volume for 20 minutes! This was incredible! At the outset it started as a utter chaotic brawl! The Express got sent to the floor three times very early on. Each time the crowd lost it!At one point Bobby Eaton threw a chair in ring, but he had the tide turned on him by TA who ended up giving the Alabama native an atomic drop on the steel chair! I had never seen this "spot" before but good God the fans loved it! The heels finally get "heat on Wrestling II and every time they cheated behind the ref's back the police would stand up in front of ringside to stop your crazy or drunk or both from climbing in the ring! I have no idea how Cornette felt safe on the floor at ringside! It finally really broke down after the "hot" tag was made to TA! He is laying waste to his foes until just like the tv bout Cornette pulls down the top rope! As Magnum chases Jimmy around the outside multiple times. The Midnight are double teaming II and just beating the shit out of him! All of a sudden Magnum comes back in with what I assume was a big 2-by-4 board and starts going crazy with it(this was mostly off camera to begin with)! TA breaks of a segment of board and Wrestling II wears out Condrey with it! Just shot after shot! The ref,of course calls for the bell and the Heels hightail it to the dressing room after a few seconds the babyfaces follow and disappear! A bit of a mixed bag today, but a fun one. So here We Go!....Fort Worth Tx 3/19/84 Junkyard Dog vs "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin with his valet Precious! This match was fun and the crowd was alive for it! As always JYD didn't do a lot, but what he did mattered. The Interplay between JYD and Precious was great! Before the bout even began! Precious stood in front of Jimmy and verbaly taunted the Dog. Even pushing him back at one point! She distracted JYD long enough for Garvin to smack him! Once the bell rung Garvin would stall, At one point JYD chased him out of the ring to the floor. While Garvin got a hug from his "main squezze" JYD reached thru the ropes and messed Garvin's hair. They repeated the same spot again but as the heels were hugging the second time Dog messed up Precious's hair! The crowd lost it! #1984Wrestling Wars Two AWA house show bouts from Winnipeg, A NJPW bout,. All from 4/19/84

Two AWA house show matches from Winnipeg.      Match #1 Billy Robinson vs Brad Rheingans. Joined in Progress.... The 5:20 clip of this match we get is good, it is all action and Lord knows these two guys can mat wrestle you to a pulp!       As we join it Robinson is working on Rheingans neck snaping it down over the top rope. Rheingans hits a headbutt to Robinson's mid-section and hits a piledriver(the crowd popped big) for a two count! Brad hits a reverse neckbreaker but the old veteran counters a backdrop attempt by pulling up short and hitting a teeth rattling forearm.      This one is back and forth as the Appleton Minn native hits an atomic drop that sends Robinson bounding out of the ring landing at the feet of his manager Bobby Heenan. 3 NJPW Matches one from 1/20/84, 2 bouts from 1/27/84

Author's Note I somehow missed a NJPW match from 1/20/84, So let's start there! Match #1 Black Tiger/Cobra vs Davey Boy Smith and The Dynamite Kid If you know anything about these four grapplers you come into seeing it with high expectations. Those were met! Wow just constant action! Everybody was crisp and stiff and in the right place at the right time! Davey Boy really stood out in the match. At one point Cobra monkey flipped him and he landed on his feet right behind Cobra. It was a tremendous catlike maneuver. Then he presses Cobra over his head and hurls him out over the top rope with ease. My only real complaint about the match it had no ring psycology at all, guys would tag in do something devastating and let his opponent just make the tag! The one story of the bout was Dynamite Kid avoiding Cobra each time the white mask came in DK would tag out! Finish saw Davey and Cobra fight out past the safety rails.
